The day started out calm and overcast but ended up a sunny breezy day with winds 15 to 20 mph. The small mouth bass made a good showing with several mixed bags coming in. No huge sacks, but you don’t need a 30# sack to win, you just need to have a heavier stringer than the next team. Kinda like out running the guy your with when you’re both running from the bear….
First time competitors on the TBTT circuit and Big Bass winners were the team of Chris Goodman and Josh Murphy who came to the scale with a 4.73# black bass to take home a check for $400. Not a bad outing.
And the team that outran all the rest…..first place in the team standings were the very consistent pair of Thomas Ferro and Ricky Bishop with a five fish limit and a total weight of 12.49# and a check for $1,092 dollars.
Second place team was father and son duo Lupe Nieto and Steven Nieto. They also had a five fish limit with a total weight of 11.89# and a check for $655.
In third place was the team of Byron Albrecht and Michael Johnson with a five fish limit that weighed 11.09#. They took home $436 dollars.
Forth place team was the team of Wesley Baxley and Colby Bryant. They also had five that weight 10.83#, accompanied by a check for $175 dollars. Just enough to get the entry fee back and a little gas money.
Great event and thanks to all the competing teams for your continued support. And many thanks to those who helped with tear down. We really appreciate that!!
See you June 1st on Possum Kingdom at BRA Public Ramp #3. It should be an exciting tournament. There are small mouth in that lake as well. Register for this and future TBTT tournaments online.
