A very stingy O.H. Ivie was the site for tournaments #3 & #4 for the Northwest Region. All the talk before the tournaments was that O.H. Ivie was fishing extremely tough and that’s exactly what the anglers found. The lake level had risen close to 30 ft in the last year and the bass had not adjusted to the huge influx of water. This coupled with rain storms and high winds made for tough fishing conditions.
As the saying goes someone always finds some fish. On day #1 it was Wendell Ramsey taking 1st place, Troy Bryant 2nd, and Mike Pruitt in 3rd. Wendell had 5.04 lb fish to take big bass honors.
On day #2 Andy Ortega took 1st place, Troy Montgomery was 2nd, and Kelley Hudson took 3rd. Andy Ortega had big bass with a 5.19 lb. Check the Northwest Region standings for weights.
The next stop for the Northwest Region will be E.V. Spence on May 18th. This will be the first time the Northwest Region has fished this lake and hopes are high for some heavy bags.
