The Northwest Region of the Texas BASS Nation returned to competition on May 9th & 10th at O.H. Ivie reservoir. Anglers were chomping at the bit due to the layoff from Covid-19. With just a few minor adjustments at the weigh-in we were able to follow guidelines for social distancing and keep everyone safe.
Due to the shortened season we held two 1-day tournaments the same weekend. The length limit on O.H. Ivie allows anglers to keep 2 largemouth under 18” with the rest having to measure 18” or over. The “over 18” fish were hard to come by this weekend. On day #1 Bobby Maynard put together a 3 fish stringer that weighed 10.52 pounds for the win. Bobby also had big bass with a nice “over” that weighed 5.00 lbs.
On day #2 Grayson Morrow put the hammer down with a 5 fish limit of overs weighing 20.89. Kelley Hudson brought in big bass on day #2 with a 5.88.
The Northwest Region will finish up our tournament season on E.V. Spence on June 13th & 14th. Official practice days will be Thursday & Friday before the tournaments. Off-limits will be observed from sundown Sunday until safe light on Thursday before the tournament.
