The Northwest Region of the Texas B.A.S.S. Nation held its first tournament of the year on Lake Brownwood, Saturday, February 25. After several days of warm weather, it turned cloudy and cool with temperatures in the upper 30’s to start the tournament.
Despite the cool weather, Kelley Hudson got off to a hot start on the season bringing in 24.27 lbs for the win. Kelley used shallow running crankbaits and a jig to catch his heavy limit of fish.
Buddy Seale, with the San Angelo Federation Bass Club, brought in the second heaviest limit of fish weighing 14.71 lbs for second place. Buddy also had Big Bass of the tournament with a nice 7.40 lb lunker.
Floyd Kaerwer from Callahan County Bass Club was third with a limit weighing 13.82 lbs.
Lake Granbury is the next stop for the Northwest Region Tournament Trail on March 25. If you are interested in joining the Northwest Region, visit the Texas B.A.S.S. Nation website at www.texasbassonline.com and look under the Club Division tab for contact information.
