Sunday the 26th was the second stop on the TBN South Region Individual Trail at Canyon Lake, where 28 anglers launched under foggy conditions. The 70 degree morning was a full 20 degrees warmer than 24 hours earlier, and water temps were in the low 60’s. By day’s end the temp came up to low 80’s and gusty winds pushed off the fog revealing bluebird skies.
2022 TBN South Region AOY Ryan Watkins returned to his winning ways bringing 5 fish to the scales totaling 23.28# anchored by a healthy 6.98#. Ryan’s performance earned him a nearly $1,000 payday, well done Ryan.
After a short hiatus we were happy to see Rick Shock back on the South Region trail. Rick worked shallow timber and grass and put together a full sack of 21.69# good enough for second place and his 7.09# kicker was just short for tournament BB. Welcome back Rick.
Hot on their heels with a 21.09# limit, Robert Brieden rounded out the podium in 3rd place. Robert’s PR 8.42# was the class of the field as the tournament BB. Congratulations Robert. See full results and year-to-date standings.
March’s tournament will be at Coleto Creek, look forward to seeing everyone there.
