The Northwest Region of the Texas BASS Nation held regional events #3 & #4 on O.H. Ivie, April 29 & 30. A gusty NW wind at 25-30 mph on Saturday made for some tough fishing conditions, but as always, somebody finds the fish.
William Bevly with Angelo Federation Bass Club, dropped a 5-fish limit on the scales weighing 25.20 lbs! William reported catching his fish early on a jig up the Colorado River. No doubt, he was using his signature Cross B Custom Rods.
Second place went to Angelo Federation club member Josh Seale. Josh brought in his limit weighing 21.77 lbs that included big bass for the day at 6.94 lbs.
Third place went to Royce Sheetz with the Callahan County Bass Club. Royce had five weighing 16.99 lbs.
The weather on Sunday was much improved with calm winds in the morning and a slight breeze in the afternoon. Day #1 winner William Bevly was not done yet. William followed up with another win on Day #2 bringing in another 5-fish limit weighing 24.73 lbs!
Jordan Baumann, also with Cross B Custom Rods, took second with 20.38 lbs. Jordan also had big bass of the day with a nice 7.46 lb largemouth.
Third place went to Callahan County member Jarred Murray with four fish weighing 12.56.
The Northwest Region is making fish care a priority. There were 112 fish caught over two days with 111 released alive back into the lake to be caught another day. Being good stewards of our fisheries is every angler’s responsibility!
Next stop will be on Hubbard Creek, May 20 & 21.
