Bassmasters’ Creed: I promise to create among my fellow anglers, and the public in general, an awareness of my Chapter’s and Society’s contributions to angling, conservation and outdoor recreation. I will encourage and instruct the youth of my community in the art of bass fishing. I pledge myself to full adherence to all conservation codes and to detect and report any polluter of our nation’s waters.

5/1/21: Nathan Byerly, Beaumont Bass Anglers, wins the Boater division of the 2021 Adult State Championship at Sam Rayburn. Nathan had 10 fish for a two day total of 25.46 lbs. He sacked em on day 2 with a flat side crank bait and had a limit in the boat by 7:05 am. He culled several times and by the end of the day that limit included a 7.35 lb kicker. Congratulations Nathan!
Clyde Williams, Houston Bass Bandits, wins the Co-angler division with a six fish two day total of 14.46 lbs. The cool thing about Clyde’s day 2 sack was a 10.42 lb kicker that was a beauty! Congrats Clyde on breaking the 10 lb mark.
And the winning Team….Houston Bass Bandits!! Their two day total was 41 fish for 88.63 lbs. Congratulations to the Team champions!!

4/17/21: Stormy Day at Palestine
The BASS Nation SE Texas Region held its 4th event of the season on Lake Palestine. The weather and a few other tournament trails on the lake made it a challenging day. Due to location and weather it was deemed a trailering event. The high winds and rain limited where anglers went and on top of that a crowded lake caused a lot of pressure on the fish in some areas.
1st Place overall honors and also 1st Big Bass went to Derrick Shoffit with the Nacogdoches Bass Club with a total weight of 17.88 lbs. His big fish went 6.48 lbs. Second and third big bass were 6.46 and 6.43 respectively. Tight race at the top. Derrick worked the dam area all most of the day throwing crankbaits and weightless senkos.
2nd Place overall honors went to Bill Huskins with The Bass Club with a total weight of 17.72 lbs. Bill caught 3 out of the five fish sight fishing on beds 1st thing in the morning in Saline. Targeted docks and reeds in Saline, caught 2 more keepers doing that. Finished my day in Ledbetter targeting small open pockets in reeds and caught that 6 lber to cull my small line burner. Caught his bigger fish on a weightless caffeine shad.
Would like to thank The Villages Marina for hosting our event. Also thank you to our sponsors, Swagger Tungsten, Jordan Marine, Seagar line, Fish Monkey gloves, 13Fishing and Impulse Rods.
