Shawn Taylor wins West Region on Lake Brownwood

Lake Brownwood produced some nice stringers this past weekend despite strong winds. It was the third Trail stop for the West Region in 2018. Finishing in the top spot was Shawn Taylor with 24.25 lbs.  Shawn also claimed the Big Bass honors with an 8.30. In second place was Wendell Ramsey weighing 21.55 lbs. Third place went to Logan McDonald with 19.30 lbs.  followed by Troy Bryant’s 17.57 lbs. fourth place finish. Rounding out the fifth and final spot was Mark Fenter with 17.20 lbs.  Anglers reported catching a majority of there Bass either flipping brush or throwing spinner baits in 2 – 6ft of water. Congrats to all the winners and we will see you on Hubbard Creek Reservoir, April 28th.

Qualifier #2 of the TBTT set for Possum Kingdom

Qualifier #2 of the Texas Bassmaster Team Trail is set for Saturday, March 17th on beautiful Possum Kingdom Lake. Headquarters for the event will be The Hide-Away Inn, FM 2951, Graford (PK) TX. The phone# is 940-779-2333. They have reserved 10 rooms for us and will hold them until Monday the week of the tournament. Just mention that you are with the Texas BASS Nation. We will be going out of South D&D Boat Ramp (located 1 mile from hotel). There will be no off limits for this tournament but there are 2 official practice days Thursday and Friday prior to the tournament. If you want to participate in official practice days you entry fee must be received by Monday, March 12th. There will also be sign-ups on Friday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and again on Saturday 5:00am to 6:00am at the ramp.
Boaters must provide proof of liability insurance with a minimum of $300,000 coverage to be eligible to fish. Paper copies only (no cell phone pictures). No exceptions!
The water temp on Saturday was 54 degrees and has warmed up almost five degrees over the last two weeks. Some good fish are being caught and the big fish should be on the move! So grab yourself a partner and come on out and fish. O.H. Ivie Tournament

Justin Brucker takes the win on O.H. Ivie!! O.H.
