The Texas Bass Nation South Region Team Trail started the 2025 season on January 11 at Fayette County Reservoir. A cold front blew plunging temps to 27 degrees at launch and only warming up to low 50s by weigh-in. 7 teams mustered their way out, and fish a challenging slot limit.

Overcoming mechanical issues, the Texas A&M College Team of Gavin Gomez and Landon Hernandez finished atop the podium, weighing a limit of 10.61 pounds.

Second place with a 8.88 pound limit was the team of Craig Musselman and Jason Funderburk.

The second round for the South Region Team Trail will be at Coleto Creek Reservoir on Feb, 08. Registration online Team Division: South Region

It was a cold blustery Saturday morning on Possum Kingdom. At 36 degrees a 25 mph breeze made it even colder. But the guys toughed ot out and caught fish.

Mike Schooler and Randy White topped the field with a five fish limit that went 15.91 lbs with a 4.61 lb bib bass for a kicker. They took home a check for $1264.

Second place wen to the Team of Jared Hampton & Shawn Larance with a limit that went 14.22 lbs. They also had a kicker that went 4.15 lbs and too home $700.

Third place went to the team of Barry Wehunt and Barry Smith also with a five fish mlimit that went 13.76 lbs and a check for $200.

A beautiful post front day on Martin Creek yeilded good results for Issac Lorance and Tyer Schweigert. This first year Team got “On Um” with a five fish limit that tipped the scales at 25.98 lbs. Included in that sack was a 7.71 lb kicker and some comparable fish to fill out the five. They took home a check for $800. Yes, they were scoping and it paid off with patience. Congratulations Issac & Tyler and welcome to the Team Trail!

In second place was the Team of Colton Harvick & Dylan Sumpter, also with a five fish limit that went 16.43 lbs. They took home a check for $264. Congratulations guys and thanks for fishing with us again this year.

The next tournament will be on Lake O’ The Pines February 22, 2025 at Johnson Creek Park (COE). See you there!
