Bassmasters’ Creed: I promise to create among my fellow anglers, and the public in general, an awareness of my Chapter’s and Society’s contributions to angling, conservation and outdoor recreation. I will encourage and instruct the youth of my community in the art of bass fishing. I pledge myself to full adherence to all conservation codes and to detect and report any polluter of our nation’s waters.

The Texas B.A.S.S. Nation – Southeast Region held its coveted Top-40 Championship, September 13th & 14th , at Stillhouse Hollow Lake. The two-division 40-Angler field consisted of 20 boaters and 20 non-boaters, who qualified through their highest scoring 4 tournaments of the 6 tournaments held throughout the 2019 tournament season. The Southeast Region also offers the Top-40 event as a “no-entry fee” event, with 3 places paid to the top boater and non-boater. An optional Big Bass cash side pot was offered to the anglers in both divisions.
A pairings banquet was held at the host site, Stillhouse Park, consisting of barbeque. The Angler-Of-The-Year trophy was presented to Colby Bryant and the Club Of The Year trophy was presented to The BASS Club. Prior to the pairings announcements for the 2-Day event, each angler received a custom Top-40 moisture wicking shirt.
Temperatures were in the high 90’s and very little breeze or cloud coverage. Stillhouse had deep hydrilla all over the lake, and finding the areas with the bass grouped was key. After the two-day event, Brian Jones bested the 20-angler boater field with a limit each day totaling 36.54 pounds! Brian was throwing top-water baits in the morning then went to flipping deep hydrilla in around 20ft of water the rest of the day.
On the non-boater side, Charlie Miglicco came from 6th place standing on day one, to taking the win with a 10.32 pound 3-fish limit on Day 2! Also, Daniel Davis earned the Big Bass side pot with a 7.63 toad!
Good luck Bryan and Charlie at the B.A.S.S. Central Regional next Spring!
We look forward to seeing everyone in 2020, starting January 11th, at Toledo Bend!

This fishery showed out with some very nice fish being caught by some of their top angler’s! Michael Cates came out on top with a solid 98″ with his 25.75 Big Bass! Per Duc, “We […]
